About

Hey, my name is Allison, an ice dye artist based in Crested Butte, Colorado. I create one-of-a-kind pieces using melting ice and snow, and I especially love when a dye finds its match. Each piece is made for someone — I just don’t know who yet. My work truly comes alive when it’s worn.

While my process falls under the umbrella of tie-dye, I specialize in ice and snow dyeing. I use professional-grade fiber reactive dyes combined with melting ice or snow. As the ice melts, the dyes bloom and blend on the fabric, creating unique color splits and textures.

Most of my dyes are inclined, letting gravity guide the flow, and I layer in techniques like reverse dyeing to create even more depth and contrast. This highlights the areas of fabric that resist color, producing the bold black lines you’ll see in my work.

It’s this combination of flowing color, contrasting line-work, and organic movement that keeps me excited about ice dyeing. Each piece surprises me in a new way, and that unpredictability is what makes Ride Me Dyes truly one-of-a-kind.

Thanks for stopping by my shop and checking out my work — I pour a lot into these pieces and hope you find something you love. If you have questions or just want to connect, drop me line.

Until the next melt,
Allison
